Personal Development

At Hannah Ball Academy, we believe that education is about more than just academic success; it’s about nurturing the whole child.

Our Personal Development curriculum is the heartbeat of our school, designed to equip every pupil with the confidence, resilience, and character they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

We provide a range of experiences that go beyond the classroom walls, from building emotional intelligence to fostering a sense of social responsibility. We focus on four key areas:

  • Wellbeing & Resilience: Giving children the tools to understand their emotions, build mental strength, and develop a "can-do" attitude.

  • British Values & Citizenship: Fostering a deep respect for democracy, the rule of law, and the diverse cultures that make our community unique.

  • Life Skills & Ambition: Encouraging curiosity through extracurricular clubs, leadership roles (like School Council), and career inspiration.

  • Health & Relationships (RSHE): Supporting pupils to form healthy, respectful relationships and make informed choices about their physical and mental health.

The Ofsted framework highlights Personal Development as a crucial area of growth. We take this responsibility seriously by ensuring our environment is inclusive, safe, and endlessly encouraging. We ensure every child discovers their unique voice and realises their potential. At Hannah Ball Academy, we want to send our pupils into the world as kind, capable, and courageous individuals.
