Year 2 -17/09/21

17th Sep 2021

This week we have been practising using the column method to add two numbers together and practising our number facts. In English, we have been extending our sentences with conjunctions such as 'and, because, but, so ,if' as well as using different words instead of 'said' to make writing more interesting. In science, we conducted some research about Apes in Africa and thought about what they need to survive in terms of food, environment and climate. We found out some really interesting facts about what they eat! Next week we will design and plan a habitat before having a go at making some with our cereal boxes - thank you for those! We do still need more, so any boxes that can be brought into school for us will be greatly appreciated.

We currently use Letters and Sounds as our phonics scheme in EYFS and  KS1. and use this programme to support pupils through KS2 that may need it.

“Our school is amazing as it’s fun, imaginative and creative. It’s the best school in the world.”
