Year 2 -17/09/21

17th Sep 2021

This week, year 2 have been doing lots of exciting things! In science we have been using scientific equipment (beakers and pipettes) to test the absorbency of well known kitchen towels by squeezing water onto the paper and measuring how many of the pipettes of water the towel absorbed. We found that the 'Regina' 3 layered towel was the most absorbent! In art, we created some Monet inspired landscapes based on photographs of well known Buckinghamshire sites using chalk pastels. In English, we used our senses to smell, touch and see different foods and then generated some wonderful adjectives to describe them. Well done Year 2 for a super (messy!) week of learning.

We currently use Letters and Sounds as our phonics scheme in EYFS and  KS1. and use this programme to support pupils through KS2 that may need it.

“Our school is amazing as it’s fun, imaginative and creative. It’s the best school in the world.”
